AMPCO® M4 is an exceptional aluminum bronze alloy known for its remarkable properties. This high performance material has mechanical properties that exceed those of conventional nickel aluminum bronzes. It features a unique composition with increased aluminum and iron content, resulting in a uniform distribution of the hard gamma 2 phase throughout the alloy. This results in excellent wear resistance, reduced friction, and improved sliding properties. As a result, it is well suited for applications requiring high mechanical strength at elevated temperatures, making it an ideal choice for aircraft landing gear bearings, bending dies, gear wheels, and more. Compliant with AMS 4590 for extrusions, this bronze alloy offers reliability and performance without the industrial hygiene requirements associated with beryllium copper alternatives.
